An Ode to Cheshire

If I choose to let go of your hands
all this would probably come to an end,
What I always wanted to know; even if it hurts me
is the way you felt for me, to what extent?

Even though I wish for you to find happiness
I can't imagine you being happy without me - I'm too immature,
This path that I've chosen; someday you too will understand
when things are less obscure.

Someday we'll find a way to be together again, right?
Cause not being able to hold you close and share your warmth
is something that I can only live with now,
But the memories that we've made, I'll always treasure them as something you endow.

The hope you gave is so beautiful, but in every way I've to embrace both the pain and pleasure that it encompasses,
But don't let go of me, you don't need to utter a single word;
even though we're far apart, I’ll take my chances.
